Joel Craig Hale - age 68 of Excelsior Springs, MO passed away Monday afternoon, July 29, 2024, at his home in Excelsior Springs. Joel was born on August 22, 1955, the son of Eugene Joseph and Elma Jean (Schermerhorn) Hale in Kansas City, MO. He grew up in North Kansas City and attended North Kansas City High School. Joel worked at Johnson Granite Supply in North Kansas City and for several trucking companies driving all over the United States. He was very mechanically inclined. Joel enjoyed music. He played the drums and guitar and liked to sing. Joel was also a talented artist and was particularly skilled at drawing. Joel was strong willed and always willing to help anybody. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Joel was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Melanie Hale; brother, Jack Hale; nephew, Brian Hale, and great-niece Amelia Decker. He is survived by sons, Harley Hutton of Kansas City, MO, JoEl Hale of Kansas City, MO, and Dominic Palecki of Littleton, CO; grandchildren, Levi, Chase, Dynten, Chevy, Cash, Bo, and Saylor; siblings, Kirk Hale (Jody) of Gladstone, MO, Chris Hale (Vanessa) of Logan County, KY, George Hale of Seneca, MO, Mathew Hale of Kansas City, MO, Jeanine Yeager (Glenn) of Platte Woods, MO, Robin Decker (Tom) of Lawson, MO, Vivian Donovan of Excelsior Springs, MO, Holly Hale of Kansas City, MO, and Courtisa Sharp (David) of Louisburg, KS; and aunts, Helen Rankle of Lee's Summit, MO, aunt Joyce Coons (Jim) of Cleveland, MO. Numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members also survive
