Joe M. Hostetler - age 68 of Jamesport, MO passed away Sunday morning, February 27, 2022, at his home in Jamesport, Missouri. Joe was born on May 12th, 1953, the son of Menno and Ada (Schmucker) Hostetler in Middlefield, OH. He grew up outside of Jamesport. On May 17th, 1975, he was united in marriage to Donna Scheef. To this union, 4 children were born. They later divorced. He later married Maria Ramirez. Joe worked for Copeland Construction and worked for Amish construction crews. He was reserved yet known to be a prankster and a sarcastic jokester. Joe loved his coffee and fishing. He also enjoyed collecting antiques, collectibles and sports memorabilia. He was a member of the Jamesport United Methodist Church. Joe will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Maria; sister, Elva Gingerich; brother, Ervin Hostetler and nephews, David and Eddy Detweiler. Survivors include children, Rachel Barnett of Maryville, David Hostetler of Jamesport, Neil Hostetler of Jamesport and Roxanne (Jesse) Reed of Maryville; stepchildren, Andrew, RaCail, Margarita and Leeza; siblings, John, Sarah, Neil, Esther, Miriam, Laura and Erma; 15 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, March 6th, 2022, at Country View Community Center near Jamesport (31741 Major Ave. Jamesport, MO 64648). A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM, Saturday evening, also at the community center. Burial will follow the services at Meadowview Cemetery, Jamesport.
