Jimmy "Jim" Lee Tucker - age 74 of Gallatin, MO passed away Friday, March 21, 2025, at Mosaic Medical Center in St. Joseph. Jim was born on April 6, 1950, the son of Curtis Tucker and Joann Pyzer in Gallatin, MO. He grew up in Gallatin and attended school there. He married Florence Curtis on Sunday, March 7th, 1971, in Gallatin, MO. Jim was a heavy equipment operator working in Quarries and building ponds and terraces. Jim also was involved in constructing the I-35 Speedway at Winston and the racetrack at Osborn. Jim often said, "dirt is for racing, asphalt is how you get there." He loved to race, fish, mushroom hunt, squirrel hunt and work at the racetrack. Jim also was a good singer, joking that Tanya Tucker was his sister. Jim will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Florence; sister, Julie Mathews; son-in-law, Greg Sipple; brother-in-law, Donnie Mathews and sister-in-law, Viveon Harper. He is survived by his children: Jimmy Leon Tucker (Lora) of Gallatin, MO, Clara Sipple of Gallatin, MO, Curtis Tucker of Gallatin, MO, Donnie Tucker (Hannah) of Gilman City, MO, and Anna Robb of Hardin, MO; twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Kickin' Cancer with Kindness in care of the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 PM to 3 PM Sunday, April 6th, 2025, at Dockery Park in Gallatin. Burial at McCrary Cemetery, near Gallatin.
