Jimmie Joe Pipes of Kennewick, WA passed on Sunday, June 7th, 2025. He was born to Lewis and Violet Kelland Pipes on April 11th, 1932, in Appleton City, MO. Jim joined his older brothers Donald and LV on the family farm and the fun began! Hard work and a lot of adventures were the story of Jim's youth.
He graduated from Jamesport High School in Jamesport, MO in 1950 and worked on a local farm until joining the Air Force in 1952 during the Korean War. He married Jean Worley on September 20th, 1953. After his Air Force service, he worked for Allis Chalmers selling farm equipment in Kansas.
Jim's only child, Jamie Lynn, was born August 10th, 1964, and he was thrilled! The family moved west to Washington State in 1967, and Jim went to work for Boeing. The real pull for Jim to move his family halfway across the United States was Jim's brother, Donald and his family. Jim, Donald and friends spent much time fishing the Columbia River and enjoying the great outdoors.
After retiring from Boeing, Jim finished his working years selling hydraulic and pneumatic equipment until he finally retired in 1990. He moved to Kennewick to be closer to his brother and worked part-time with a hydraulics company in Pasco, Washington. Jim moved to Hawthorne Court Senior Living in 2021 and enjoyed living there until his peaceful passing.
Jim was predeceased by his parents and brothers. He is survived by his daughter, Jamie Cier, and many loving members of the Pipes, Worley and Dowell families.
Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, October 4th, 2025, at Old Scotland Cemetery, near Jameson, MO. Arrangements entrusted to the care and direction of Stith Funeral Home in Gallatin. (660) 663-2117. Online guestbook at www.stithfamilyfunerals.com
