Jessie Ann (Huffman) Youtsey, R.N.

Jessie Ann (Huffman) Youtsey, R.N. -age 87 of Orrick, MO passed away Monday morning, September 2nd, 2019 at her home with family at her side. Jessie was born on June 3rd, 1932 the daughter of Claudie Garrel & Eva Grace (Wilson) Huffman in Winston, MO.  She attended school in Winston.  On March 24th, 1949 she was united in marriage to Eben H. Youtsey.  Jessie obtained a nursing degree from North Central Missouri College in Trenton, MO and was a registered nurse.  She worked many years for Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond, MO.  Jessie also worked at Golden Age Nursing Home in Braymer, MO and served as a visiting nurse in Colorado and Wyoming. Nursing was her passion and she served as a loving and caring nurse for over 50 years. She not only loved and cared for her patients, but her family and everyone she encountered. She like to have fun and said, “I had fun as my children grew up”.  Jessie liked to laugh and loved to travel. She was able to travel to Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska and all over the continental United States.  Jessie enjoyed playing board games and spending time with family and friends.  She loved quilting.  She also enjoyed collecting rocks and minerals and had an extensive collection.  Jessie was a member of the Cowgill United Methodist Church.  She co-authored a book, “As I Recall”.  She had a strong faith and was a moral and ethical woman.  Jessie will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She was loved by many.

Mrs. Youtsey was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eben; brother, Cecil Wayne Huffman; brother, Don Claude Huffman; sister, Reta Mae Pemberton; sister, Iva Nell Roe; daughter, Virginia Ann Youtsey; son, Eben Dean Youtsey; son, Henry Gene Youtsey; son, Terry Don Youtsey.  Survivors include: daughter, Peggy Lee (Jack) Hayson; daughter, Sherry Sue (Don) Barton; daughter, Debbie Lynn (Donnie) Youtsey Boyles; son, Randy Ray (Charlotte) Youtsey; brother, Richard Buell Huffman; brother, Larry Eugene Huffman; 25 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.     

Memorial contributions are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation or Cowgill Cemetery. Graveside services and inurnment are scheduled for 3 PM Saturday, September 7th, 2019 at Cowgill Cemetery, southeast of Cowgill, MO. There is no scheduled visitation.
