Jeff "Zip" Tucker Obituary

 

Jeff "Zip" Tucker - age 95 of Cameron, MO passed away Thursday morning, August 5th, 2021 at his home.  Jeff was born on September 14th, 1925 the son of Ward and Cora Lee (Cassidy) Tucker in Olathe, KS. He served in the United States Army during World War II from 1943 until his honorable discharge in 1946.  On March 29th, 1947 he was united in marriage to Thelma Hill in Troy, KS.  Zip owned and operated Zip Trucklines for over 30 years before working for Ford Motor Company, retiring in 1989.  Jeff was a likeable and enjoyable person.  He enjoyed bowling and dirt track racing, often working in the pits.  Zip will be dearly missed.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Thelma; son, Glenn Tucker; 2 bothers and 5 sisters. Survivors include his children, Sally (Allen) Whitt of Cameron, Harvey (Betty) Tucker of St. Joe; brother-in-law, Herbert Hill of Helena, MO; grandchildren, Amanda Tucker of St. Joe, Scott Huitt of Cameron, Cheyenne Whitt of Kingston and Travis Whitt of Cameron; 8 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family members also survive.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Active Aging Resource Center in care of the funeral home. Services will be held at a later date.
