James D. Wells - age 67, a lifelong resident of Jamesport, MO passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. James was born on June 3, 1957, the son of John Wells and Alice (Henderson) Grice in Kansas City. He was a 1975 graduate of Tri-County High School in Jamesport. He married Dana Scott on December 31st, 1982, in Trenton, MO. He was a heavy equipment operator for Kissick Construction and a member of the IUOE 101 union. James was also a member of the Church of Christ in Jamesport. He enjoyed farming and deer hunting. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. James will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
James was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Bryce Wells. He is survived by his wife, Dana of the home; daughters, Jamie Nolan (Jonathon) of Chillicothe, MO, Kristi Littrell of Smithville, MO, and Kara Lewis (Michael) of Smithville, MO; grandchildren, Braxton Nolan, Grayson & Wesley Lewis, and Kinslee Littrell; siblings, Connie McKay (Dallas) of Denison, TX and John Wells (Amber) of Jamesport, MO; nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family members and his beloved dog, Punk also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Kickin' Cancer with Kindness in care of the funeral home. The family will gather with friends from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM Monday, March 31, 2025, at Stith Funeral Home & Crematory in Jamesport. Friends may call after 9 AM Monday at the funeral home.
