Jack L. Parker - age 84 of Gallatin, MO passed away Friday morning, October 31, 2025, at Hillcrest Manor in Hamilton, MO. Jack was born on May 10, 1941, the son of Tom and Katie (Latimer) Parker in Stotts City, MO. He grew up in Stotts City and the Kansas City area. Jack served in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 to 1962. He married Margaret Fay Wright on September 29th, 1962, in Wasco, CA. They began raising their family in California before moving to Gallatin in 1973. Jack was a member of the American Legion in Paramount, CA. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and horses. Jack also enjoyed deer hunting, western movies, collecting antiques and pens. He enjoyed annual motorcycle trips with his sons and grandsons. Jack also organized and hosted family reunions. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and his Aunt Mary Woodard; siblings, Raymond Parker (Dorothy), Jess Parker (Rilla), Tiny Parker (Infant), Alta McQueen (William), Mary Walden (Don), Wilbert Parker (Delores), Gilbert Parker (Jean), Bert Parker (Georgia), Sam Parker (Joyce), Bill Parker (Mary), John Parker; sister-in-law, Patricia Likins and brother-in-law, Chuck Ault. He is survived by his wife Margaret of the home; sons, Ernest Parker (Lisa) of Brighton, IA, Wade Parker (Cathy) of Tijeras, NM, and Sean Parker (Poppy) of Wildwood, MO; grandchildren, Jessica, Joshua, Michelle, Phillip, Lauren, Rachel, Ryan, Jason, Shannon, Kimberly, Patrick, Nate, and Andrew; sixteen great-grandchildren; sisters Wilma Royster (Martin) of Westminister, CA, and Ellen Ault of Independece, MO, sister-in-law, Luana Parker of Kansas City, MO; brother-in-law, Tony Likins of San Antonio, TX; sister-in-law, Evelyn Wright of Bakersfield, CA; brother-in-law, Eddy Wright of Gilroy, CA; sister-in-law, Marcella Harris (Wayne) of Gallatin, MO; several nieces, nephews and other extended family members also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Active Aging Resource Center in care of the funeral home. A service celebrating Jack's life will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Stith Funeral Home in Gallatin. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM one-hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow the services at Centenary Cemetery, east of Gallatin. Friends may call after 9 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
