Jack Dube - age 69 of Bethany, MO, passed away Tuesday evening, May 12, 2026 at his home in Bethany. Jack was born on January 17, 1957, to Mary Margaret (Dowell) of Gilman City, Missouri and Herman Ferman Dube of Wallagrass, Maine. He grew up alongside his three sisters; Linda, Debbie, and Angie, and his brother, David. As a child, Jack loved farming with his granddad, Jack, in Gilman City. He enjoyed riding horses, spending time with his cousins and of course, hunting. Jack shot his first buck at just 8 years old and harvested his last at age 68 during black powder season in December 2025. Hunting was one of the great passions of his life.
After high school, Jack started a roofing company with Kenny Meek and together they traveled many miles. In 1979, Jack began working for General Motors on the night shift assembly line. Later, he became a committeeman for UAW Local 31, an accomplishment he was deeply proud of. For years, he drove 111 miles each way, six days a week, showing the dedication and work ethic that defined him. In 1988, Jack married Ronda Osmon, whom he had previously dated in high school. In 1989, Jack and Ronda welcomed their daughter, Samantha, into the family, joining sisters Brandy and Randee Stratton. Jack often said Ronda was his soulmate.
In 2019, Jack’s granddaughter, Endora, was born. Though her given name was Endora, Jack lovingly called her “Daisy.” He often referred to her as the apple of his eye, his gold, and his greatest joy. The two spent countless hours together reading books, watching hunting shows, and riding around in his side-by-side. Endora dearly loved her “Papaw.” After the passing of Ronda on their anniversary, May 1, Jack made the decision to end treatment for his MDS so he could be reunited with his soulmate. He passed peacefully in his sleep at home, with his daughter Samantha by his side. Jack will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ronda Faye Dube; and brother-in-law, Carl Courter. He is survived by his daughters: Samantha Hess (Ben), Brandy Polley (Scott), and Randee McDaniel (Bryan); grandchildren: Endora, Jessica, Taylor, Tyler, and Rowdy; seven great-grandchildren; and siblings: Linda Wilson (Larry) of Winston, Debra Baldwin of Albany, MO, David Dube of Altamont, and Angela Baker (Chris) of Gallatin; along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family members also survive.
