Iris Ilene (Dockery) Boyle

Iris Ilene Boyle - age 94 of Jamesport, MO passed away Thursday night, March 27, 2025, at her home in Jamesport. Iris was born on November 30, 1930, the daughter of Ira Washington Dockery and Alta Mae (Watts) at Dockery Crossing in the Hickory Creek area of Grundy County, MO. She was a 1947 graduate of Trenton High School. She married Harry Elwood Boyle on June 8, 1948, at the home of Rev. Lewis Clark in Jamesport. Harry preceded her in death on December 1, 2006. Iris was a member of the Shelburne Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron three times.

Iris enjoyed having family get-togethers, taking pictures, making photo albums, recording family history, reading, raising flowers, meeting people at the flea markets and shops, buying and selling "junk" as it was called.

In addition to her husband, Harry she was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Floyd Dockery, Mayland Dockery, and Alma Averill; great-grandchild, Corbin Walter; nephew, Mark Dockery; nieces, Sarah Baker and Teresa Dockery. She is survived by her sons, Harry Boyle of Trenton, MO, Stephen Boyle (Emily) of Trenton, MO, and Gary Boyle (Marie) of Trenton, MO; fourteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Shelburne Cemetery or Jamesport First Responders in care of the funeral home. A service celebrating Iris' life will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Shelburne Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Friday, the evening prior at Stith Funeral Home in Jamesport. Friends may call after 10:00 AM Friday at the funeral home.  Burial will follow the services at Shelburne Cemetery.
