Hunter D. Zink Obituary

Hunter D. Zink - age 25 of Kansas City, MO passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at his home in Kansas City. Hunter was born on August 29, 1998, the son of Christopher Jon Zink and Kerre Beth (Nelles) Fiebich in North Kansas City, MO. He grew up in the Liberty and Kearney area, graduating from Kearney High School in 2017. Hunter was a member of Boy Scouts, from Tiger Cub to Eagle Scout. He was a member of Troop 320 at the Liberty Christian Church and obtained his Eagle Scout in September of 2016. Hunter loved music, playing the guitar and clarinet in high school band. He took guitar lessons and attended Rock Camp at Palen Music. Hunter participated in Northland CAPS where he found an interest in the medical field. He worked at North Kansas City Hospital during high school with the Northland CAPS program. After high school, Hunter worked at Liberty Hospital and later Lincare/ Med4home as a Pharmacy Tech. He loved his cat, Case and his family. Hunter will be dearly missed by his family and friends. 

Hunter was preceded in death by his maternal great-great grandmother, Vesta Stutesman; paternal great-great grandparents, Blanche Burke and Dorothy Jelinek; maternal great- grandparents, Norbert Schmitz and Everett and Jessie Nelles; and paternal great-grandparents, James and Virginia Jelinek and George and Dorothy Zink. He is survived by his parents, Christopher Zink (Sarah) of Polo, MO and Kerre and Stephan Fiebich of Kearney, MO; siblings, Taylor Zink of Polo, MO and Matthew Fiebich of Kearney, MO; maternal grandparents, Clifford and Gerre Nelles of Excelsior Springs, MO; paternal grandparents, David and Linda Zink of Polo, MO; Aunts, Michelle Burrus (Riley) of Blue Springs, MO, Jodie Smith of Kansas City, KS, and Stacey Pfannenstiel of Excelsior Springs, MO; and maternal great-grandmother, Joan Schmitz of Maryville, MO. Several cousins and other extended family members also survive.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Boy Scout Troop #320 in care of the funeral home. A service celebrating Hunter's life will be held at 7:00 PM, Friday, May 03, 2024, at Christ Chapel in Polo, MO.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Friday, May 3rd, 2024, also at the church. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 4, 2024, at St. Joseph Cemetery in Parnell, MO. Boy Scouts Troop 320 Venmo Donation Option:

In honor of Hunter David, Boy Scout Troup 320 has made their Venmo account available for donations.

They will use the funds to help one of their scouts complete his “Eagle” project which will be providing beds and mattresses for kids who need them.  The young man that is working on this project is wanting to add a small brass plate with “HDZ” on the back of the headboard or the possibility of burning/stamping the Boy Scouts “Fleur-De-Lis” and add the “HDZ” as well. 

Any additional funds will be made available for “Camperships” for deserving Scouts.
