Helena Lucas

Helena Lucas- age 87 of Trimble, MO passed away Sunday afternoon, January 12, 2025, at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Missouri. Helena was born on July 22, 1937, the daughter of James Garland and Helena Aurene (Spencer) Partridge in Maryville, MO. She grew up and attended high school in Maryville. On February 22, 1954 Helena was united in marriage to Darrel Lucas. Helena was devoted to her community of Holt. She owned and operated Helena's Beauty Shoppe alongside Diane Riddle from Holt, MO for over 45 years. Helena also volunteered for the Holt Fire Department, where she served as one of the first female EMTs and dispatcher. She was an avid reader and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles. Helena was also a farm wife, and was able to take care of the family that she loved. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. 

Helena was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Darrel Lucas; brother, Garland Spencer; and  grandson, Shawn Bennett Lucas. She is survived by her children, Venus Leannea King (Ron) of Liberty, MO and Dennis Darrel Lucas (Linda) of Lathrop, MO; grandchildren, David Lucas (Becky) of Lathrop, MO, Jessica King of Kansas City, MO, Talitha Nickols of Colby, KS, and Josh King; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Etheljane Freece of Hardin, MO, Harriett Simpson of SC, Stanley Frank Troncin Sr. (Judith) of Trimble, MO, sister in-law, Patty Pollock,  Harry Robert Troncin (Kathy) of Lathrop, MO; and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Children's Mercy Hospital in care of the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 17, 2025, at Lathrop Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the care and direction of Stith Funeral Home in Lathrop (816) 740-4658.
