George Everett Reed Jr.

George Everett Reed Jr. - age 76 of Polo, MO passed away Monday morning, December 04, 2023, at his home in Polo, Missouri. George was born on March 1, 1947, the son of George Everett Sr. and Sarah (Malone) Reed in East Peoria, IL. He grew up and attended high school in Deer Creek, Illinois. George was united in marriage to Jane Stretch on August 5th, 1989, at the  Gallatin First Baptist Church, in Gallatin, MO. He worked at Boyles Motors in Maryville, MO as a mechanic. He also worked for several warehouses and as a CNA at nursing homes.  George was always laughing and joking around. He enjoyed drinking coffee and watching films with his family. George always deeply loved and supported his family. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. 

George was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Xaviour; and sisters, Pat and Shirley. He is survived by his wife Jane of the home; children, Wayne Reed (Debbie) of Chillicothe, IL, Joseph Reed, Robert Reed, Sarah Reed, Gwendalyn Bennett (Chirstain) of Belton, MO, and Tylor Reed (Cayla) of Fort Irwin, CA; grandchildren, Silviah, Alice, Leland, Kaytlin and Jesse; great grandchild, Rayna and one sister, Joyce Reed of IL. Other extended family members also survive.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Lung Association in care of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM, Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Stith Family Funeral Home in Polo, MO.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.  Arrangements entrusted to the care and direction of Stith Funeral Home in Polo (660) 354-2214.
