Gene Prindle - age 83 of rural Jameson, MO passed away Friday night, December 20th, 2019 at his home. Gene was born on May 6th, 1936 the son of Herman Thomas and Pearl (Walton) Prindle at home, on the family farm in rural Jameson. He attended school at Smith Country School for 8 years. As a teenager he began working at the JC Penney farm, where he worked for ten years. On May 1st, 1958 he was united in marriage to Lois McCrary in Gallatin. They made their home in rural Jameson, began farming and raised a family. Gene’s passion was farming, and he bled John Deere green and yellow. He was always willing to lend a helping hand whether it be the neighbors with their crops or maintaining the roads in the neighborhood. Gene enjoyed woodworking, building bird houses, a replica of the family farmhouse and a replica of Old Scotland Church. He also enjoyed old cars, and he restored a 1951 B John Deere. Gene was a member of the Old Scotland Church. He will be dearly missed.
Mr. Prindle was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tom Prindle and granddaughter, Shelby Prindle. Survivors include: wife, Lois of the home; daughter, Brenda (Gary) Bennett of Dodge City, KS; son, Vincent Gene Prindle of Bethany; son, Jack (Kim) Prindle of Gilman City; son, Steve Prindle of Gallatin; son, Travis Prindle of the home; sister, Carolyn Martel of Bennington, NE; brother, Bill Prindle of Buckner and sister, Betty (Gary) Harmison of Jameson; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other extended family member.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to McCrary Cemetery in care of the funeral home. Funeral Services: 2 PM, Saturday, December 28th, 2019, Stith Funeral Home, Gallatin. Visitation: 1 hr. prior to the service at the funeral home. Friends may call after 11 AM Friday at the funeral home. Burial: Old Scotland Cemetery, Jameson.
