Eugene McNeely

Eugene McNeely - age 81 of Jameson, MO passed away Sunday afternoon, October 8, 2023, at North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City. Eugene was born on June 11, 1942, the son of Hobert and Dorothy (Mills) McNeely in Jameson, MO. He was a 1960 graduate of Jameson High School. Following high school, he served in the Forest Service in Oregon with his brother, Marvin and cousin, Ronald. Eugene then served 6 years in the United States Army Reserves. He married Mildred Bradley on December 5th, 1965, in Gallatin, MO. Eugene was a member of Highway Christian Church in Bethany, where he was a deacon. He worked as a farmer and mechanic at Terry Implement in Gallatin for 43 years. Eugene pulled Allis-Chalmers tractors for 50 years. He was happy, friendly and kind. Eugene will be dearly missed by his family and friends. 

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Marvin McNeely. He is survived by his wife Millie of the home; daughter, Anita Vanderheyden (Paul) of Kearney, MO; grandchildren, Andrew Delarber of Bethany, MO, Katy Vanderheyden of Guam, Lily Vanderheyden of Kearney, MO, Crystal Vanderheyden of IL, Timothy Vanderheyden of Columbia, MO, Caleb Vanderheyden of Kansas City, MO, Emma Irvan (Chance) of Savannah, MO, and Jonah Vanderheyden of Kansas City, MO; four great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Miller (Dick) of Jameson, MO; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 13, 2023, at Stith Funeral Home in Gallatin.  The family will receive friends one-hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Grand River Cemetery in Jameson.
