Dora M. Burns - age 64 of Kansas City, MO passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. Dora was born January 18, 1962, to Emmet and Patricia (Dunn) Leabo. She graduated from Richmond High School in 1981. On December 19, 1984, she was united in marriage to Bobby Burns, Jr. at the Baptist Church in Cowgill, Missouri. Dora worked for many years in nursing homes, where she dedicated herself to caring for others. In her free time, she enjoyed doing word search and embroidery. She had a special love for Coca-Cola and cherished time spent with her family and friends. Dora will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Dora was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Burns, Jr.; her parents and sister-in-law, Rose Leabo. She is survived by her siblings, Emmett Leabo, Jr. (Debbie) of Richmond, MO, Merl Leabo of Richmond, MO, Mary Kromeich (Jackie) of Braymer, MO, Vicky Nibarger (Alfred) of Braymer, MO, Eddie Campbell (Dawn) of Braymer, MO, and Dean Campbell (Kim) of Braymer, MO; along with many, nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Mary Kromeich to help with final expenses in care of the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 PM to 4 PM, Sunday March 8th, 2026, at the Braymer American Legion in Braymer, MO.
