Donna Kay (Winscott) Groskopf Obituary

Donna Kay (Winscott) Groskopf, 73 years and 3-month3-old, died in her home in Stewartsville, Mo., on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

Donna was born in Basin, Wyo., on November 13, 1952 to Rev. J.D. Winscott and Jackie (Swick) Winscott. She joined two older brothers and two older sisters in this little town in the Big Horn Basin.

During Donna’s preschool years the family moved to Roundup Mont., where her father pastored the Assemblies of God church.

In 1959, the family moved to Powell, Wyo., where Donna attend all her schooling and graduated from Powell High School in 1971.

As a 5-year-old, Donna showed great interest in music, especially piano. She excelled in playing the piano.

Donna attended Northwest Community College in Powell, and completed her degree in teaching at Montana State University, Billings, Mont. Donna loved studying the Bible and was taking Bible courses at Global University, Springfield, Mo.

Aside from playing the piano, Donna loved drawing artwork on the computer, tending to her flowering plants, and breeding and taking care of her dachshunds.

On December 31, 1987, Donna married David Groskopf in Kimbell, Neb. In 1991 they moved to Everett, Wash., and later to Camino Island, Wash. David and Donna moved to Missouri in summer 2014.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents J.D. and Jackie (Swick) Winscott, older brothers Jim and Marvin (Butch). She is survived by her sister, Barbara Schoonover (Richard), Springfield, Mo., and Patricia Ann VanDiver (Ken), Kimbell, Neb, and daughter Roberta (Bobbie) Bender, Washington State, and nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Lathrop Assembly of God in care of the funeral home. A service celebrating Donna's life will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Lathrop Assembly of God in Lathrop. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service also at the church. Burial will be at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the care and direction of Stith Funeral Home in Lathrop.
