Donald "Don" Silvers - age 85 of Kingston, MO passed away Monday morning, June 28th, 2021, at his home. Don was born on June 1st, 1936, the son of Ora Dean and Dorothy (Hollis) Silvers at the family home at 46th and Montgall in Kansas City, MO. He was a 1954 graduate of Paseo High School in Kansas City. On September 2nd, 1961, Don was united in marriage to Mary Ann Fracul at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Kansas City, KS. He retired from TWA as a lead mechanic after 37 years of service. Don served for 9 years in the Airforce reserves and was a member of the National Cutting Horse Association. He loved the outdoors, hunting morrell mushrooms, fishing, raising and showing quarter horses and most recently raising cattle. Don found joy training bird dogs in his younger days and hunting pheasant and quail. He was opinionated, cantankerous, ornery and will be dearly missed.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Barbara Holloway. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann of the home; daughter, Mary (Trent) Newberry of Cary, NC; son, Tony (Jacquline) Silvers of Kansas City; granddaughters: Gabriella Newberry, Laney Silvers and Cheyenne Silvers; brother, Darrell (Cheryl) Silvers of Bonner Springs, KS; nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the KU Burn Center. Memorial services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, July 3rd, 2021 at Stith Family Funeral Home in Polo.
