Dennis O. Clawson, Sr. - age 82 of Jameson, MO passed away Tuesday night, December 17, 2019 at Harrison County Community Hospital, Bethany, MO. Dennis was born on August 19, 1937, the son of Orin and Odessa (Tolman) Clawson in Hurricane, Washington County, Utah. He was a graduate of Pacific High School, San Bernardino, California. Dennis was married to Teresa Alfaro on October 14, 1960. Four Children were born of that marriage. Teresa passed away February 11, 1986. On May 23, 1987 he was united in marriage to Cheryl Kinghorn in St. George, Utah. Dennis was a highway construction quality assurance inspector for the State of California and Herzog. Prior to moving to Daviess County, he lived in California, Utah, Colorado, and Texas. Dennis was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gallatin. He was a scholar and constantly learning. Books were important to Dennis and he had a massive library. Dennis especially loved ancient history. He enjoyed music, singing and telling stories. He served a mission in Mexico for two and a half years and served in the Kansas City and Jordan River Utah Temples. Dennis was a man of great faith and had a deep and abiding testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and love for our Savior.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Teresa Alfaro; 6 siblings. Survivors: wife, Cheryl of the home; son, Dennis Orin (Jaime Lynn) Clawson, Jr. of Greenville, Ohio; daughter, Odessa (David) Gordon of Globe, AZ; son, Kenneth (Angela) Clawson of Huntington Beach, CA; daughter, Deb (Andy) Winfrey of Winston Salem, NC; son, Michael Clawson of Vineyard, UT; son, Orin Bruce Clawson of Tempe, AZ; daughter, Esther (Kyle) Wingo of Springfield, Virginia; daughter, Catherine (Taylor) Wright of Brigham City, UT; daughter, Elizabeth Clawson of Brigham City, UT; sister, Erminie West of Lovell, WY; sister, Virginia Sedgewick of Kamiah, ID; brother, Daniel Bruce (Sheri) Clawson of West Valley City, UT; 15 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

Funeral service: 11 AM Thursday, December 26, 2019 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gallatin, MO. Visitation: one-hour prior to the service at the church.
