Delores L. Elder - age 76 of Cameron, MO passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 3rd, 2023, at Mosaic Medical Center in St. Joseph, MO. Delores was born on August 17, 1947, the daughter of Earl and Connie (Carson) Myers in Harrison County, MO. She grew up in the Pattonsburg and Coffey areas and attended school at Pattonsburg. Delores married Lloyd Walker and to this union, three sons were born. She later married Durward "Dewey" Elder and he preceded her in death in 1994. Delores worked at Stride Rite Shoe Factory in Hamilton, the Cap Factory in Pattonsburg, managed the south Casey's in Cameron for many years and later drove for Labcorp. Delores loved shopping at garage sales and at Savers in Liberty. She was a beautiful decorator. She enjoyed dancing, especially with her late husband, Dewey. Delores was always on the go. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dewey Elder; stepdaughter, Diane Snyder; siblings, Cathy Hogan and Jerry "Poncho" Hogan; longtime companion Jack Armstrong. She is survived by her sons, Wayne Walker, Jeff Walker of Shreveport, LA, Randy Walker of Gallatin, MO; stepdaughters, Debbie Miller (DJ) of Denver, MO, Brenda Muff of Albany, MO, Bev Walker of Jameson, MO; three grandchildren, Tony Greer of Eldon, MO, Tristan Greer of Eldon, MO, and Stephanie Walker of Howell, MI; two great-grandchildren, Ace and Ivan; and four siblings, Dee Myers (Jean) of Coffey, MO, Richard Hogan of Gallatin, MO, Billy Hogan (Linda) of Carrollton, MO, Ron Hogan (Angela) of Cameron, MO, and Tracy Carder (Bruce) of Jameson, MO; step-grandchildren, Teresa (Dave) Blom Howell, MI and Chris Wright of Shreveport, LA; step-great grandchild, Charlotte; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Stith Funeral Home to assist with monument for Delores. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Stith Funeral Home in Gallatin. The family will receive friends one-hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
