Delores "Dee" L. (Dixon) Mann

Delores "Dee" L. (Dixon) Mann - age 85 of Independence, MO passed away Tuesday evening, April 20th, 2021 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO.  Delores was born on May 1st, 1935 the daughter of Roy “Turk” and Dobbin (Dickinson) Dixon in Jamesport, MO.  She was a graduate of Jamesport High School in Jamesport, MO.  On November 15th, 1954 she was united in marriage to Gordon Mann in Gallatin, MO. Early in life she worked as an operator for the Inter-County Telephone Company. The couple had three children: Jerri, Mike and Sherri, and made their home in Kansas City until relocating to Independence for the next 50 years.  Delores was a member of the First Christian Church in Independence.  She worked at different Daycares over the years and loved children.  Delores was all about family and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were especially important to her.  She enjoyed cooking, flowers in the summertime, and Square Dancing with Gordon.  Delores was a big fan of dirt track racing and especially, Dixon #88.  She was a kind “people person” that was easy to get along with and she will be dearly missed.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gordon; sister, Geraldine Snidow; brother, Connie “Buck” Dixon; infant sister, Helen Jean Dixon; great-granddaughter, Marley Oliva. Survivors include her children: Jerri (Paul) Oliva of Excelsior Springs, Mike (Sarah) Mann of DeSoto, KS, Sherri (Dale) Paschall of Independence; grandchildren: Amanda (Bill), Carpio (Whitney), Shannon (Mike), Chris (Kalli), Ross (Maddie), Erica and Emily; great-grandchildren: Gordon, Brackett, Rahlie and Maelyn; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members also survive.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Clear Creek Cemetery, Kickin Cancer with Kindness or the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held at noon, Monday, April 26th, 2021 at Stith Funeral Home in Gallatin. The family receive friends one-hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
