David Michael Zappitello, age 66, of Jameson, Missouri, and formerly of Brighton, Colorado, passed away Saturday morning, July 17, 2021 at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Missouri. Dave was born on July 21, 1954, the son of Joseph Michael and Martha Marie (Christensen) Zappitello, in Chula Vista, California. Dave grew up in Idaho and Colorado, and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a 1972 graduate of Leadville High School in Leadville, Colorado, and served in the California Bakersfield Mission, which profoundly affected his life. On February 17, 1993, he was united in marriage to Margaret Clark at the Denver Temple. Dave completed education and training in computer information systems and obtained a bachelor’s degree in business from Argosy University in Denver. Dave was an entrepreneur and a business consultant. He was an accepting person who truly loved people. Dave was personable and enjoyed telling stories. He was always helping and serving others. Dave loved music. He played trumpet and the piano, and was a talented singer, participating as a bass in various small groups and Church choirs, including the Colorado Mormon Chorale. Dave developed considerable skill as a woodworker with computer numerical control (CNC) routers, which he used to create beautiful works of art. Dave was inquisitive and insightful, always reading and learning. He was a spiritual, fun, and wise man. His family and friends are grateful for the many times that the Lord and His angels preserved Dave’s life through the years. Dave will be sorely missed.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; children, Michael (Elisha), Matthew, Stephen, Britany, Daniel, Thomas (Eryn), Rebekah (Christopher) and Samuel; grandchildren: Aubrey, Gavin, Brielle, Amaya, Sebastian and William; siblings, Scott, Jeff (LeeAnn), and Becky (Chad) Dixon, as well as other extended family.
