Daryl Swalley

Daryl  Swalley - age 73 of Jamesport, MO passed away Wednesday morning,  March 23, 2022 in Jamesport. Daryl was born on April 19, 1948, the son of George and Roberta (Baker) Swalley in Maryville, MO. Daryl grew up in Maryville and Independence, graduating from William Chrisman High School in 1966. He served in the United States Army 101st Airborne during Vietnam from 1967, until his honorable discharge in 1968. Daryl received two purple hearts for his service.  On March 4th, 1968, he was united in marriage to Gloria Strange in Independence. He and Gloria made their home in Jamesport in 1972. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. 

Daryl was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Drew Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Gloria of the home;  children, Duane Swalley of Jamesport, MO, Dana Swalley (Charles Pascoe) of Independence, MO, and Dean Swalley (DeAnna) of Gallatin, MO; four grandchildren, Taylor Swalley (Gabe Cole) of Gallatin, Dalton Swalley of Gallatin, MO, Harley Vassholz of Independence, MO, and Daycee Swalley of Gallatin, MO; great-grandchild, Ben Cole; sister, Connie Curtis of Independence, MO; sister-in-law, Cheryl Rogers of Odessa, MO; nephew, Chris; nieces, Alicia and Christy; cousins and other extended family members also survive. 
 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Clear Creek Cemetery in care of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Monday, March 28, 2022, at the Spillman Center in Jamesport.  The family will receive friends from one-hour prior to the service, also at the Spillman Center.  Burial will follow at Clear Creek Cemetery south of Jamesport.
