Darrel Lucas

Darrel Lucas - age 85 of Holt, MO passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 17th, 2021, at his home. Darrel was born on December 19th, 1935, on the family farm in rural Taylor County, Iowa to Ellis Darrel and Bessie Minnie (Stewart) Lucas. Darrel was baptized at an early age.  He was a graduate of Bradyville, IA High School.  On February 22nd, 1954, he was united in marriage to Helena Partridge.  Darrel was a Teamsters truckdriver for over 30 years. He drove for Crouch Brothers, McClean Truck Lines and ABF Freightways.  In later years, he enjoyed spending time on his farm and raising cattle. 

Darrel was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, John Maudlin; sister, Evelyn Roush; brother, Dean Lucas; grandson, Shawn Lucas. Survivors include: wife, Helena of the home; daughter, Venus Leannea (Ron) King of Liberty, MO; son, Dennis (Linda) Lucas of Lathrop, MO; 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Salvation Army or Goodwill. Private family graveside services will be held at Hopkins Cemetery in Hopkins, MO.
