Charles Leonard Horn Obituary

 

Charles Leonard Horn - age 71 of Carrollton, MO passed away Sunday morning, January 26th, 2020 at Life Care Center of Carrollton. Charles was born on June 3rd, 1948 the son of Charles F. and Vivian C. (Barger) Horn in Great Bend, KS.  As a young child Charles contracted polio and suffered the effects from it his whole life.  He was a 1969 graduate of the Stet, MO High School.  On January 6th, 1982 he was united in marriage to Claudia Marie Smith in Kansas City.  Charles was always happy and always had a smile on his face.  He had every reason to complain, but never did.  Charles loved assembling model cars and airplanes. He liked working with his hands.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. 

Mr. Horn was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Claudia; sister, Donna (JB) Armstrong; brother, William "Mickey" (Pat) Horn. Survivors: daughter, Cassandra Horn of Richmond; son, Michael (Ginger) Horn of Chillicothe; sister, Sharon (George) Whitcomb of Lawson; sister, Dorothy (Calvin) Milligan of Braymer; brother, Artie (Connie) Horn of Kearney; grandchildren: Chrissy, Vanessa, Ivy, Aidan and Tomas; 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members also survive.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Children's Mercy Hospital in care of the funeral home. Funeral Service: 1 PM, Thursday, January 30th, 2020, Stith Family Funeral Home, Polo. Visitation: 6 to 8 PM, the evening prior (Wednesday) also at the funeral home. Friends may call after 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial: Bethel Cemetery, south of Polo. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Stith Family Funeral Home, Polo.
