Charles Edwin Ramsey was born June 1, 1933 to parents Orthall A and Vivian Frances Ramsey of Jamesport, MO. After graduating from Bob Jones University, Charles married Bonnie Anna Colley. Together they raised four children.
After serving with Village Missions in the Pacific Northwest, and a brief career in banking, Charles began his career in Christian education: ministering in Christian schools in Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska. Always learning, Charles earned masters’ degrees from Calvary Bible College and Concordia University; after which Charles received a superintendent’s certificate from the state of Nebraska.
After formal retirement, Charles served as a pastor for a rural assembly while also fulfilling the superintendent role for multiple Christian schools in Nebraska. Though he lived in several places throughout the Midwest; Jamesport, MO and the house his grandfather built, was always his home.
After Bonnie’s passing, Charles lived with his daughter Marilyn, and her family in Harlan, Iowa for several years. Charles spent his final years with Avoca Specialty Care in Avoca, IA.
Charles is survived by his four children, daughter Beth (Peter) Neumann, Walker Lake Nevada and grandson Reeves. Son, John (Lisa) Ramsey of Raymore MO. and grandchildren: Cara Ramsey of KC, MO. Daniel (Giana) Ramsey of Denver CO, Claire Ramsey KC, MO., and Gabrielle Ramsey of Raymore, MO. Daughter Marilyn (Brian) Krehbiel of Council Bluffs, Iowa and granddaughters Hannah (Gabe)Early of Omaha, NE and great grandsons Ferris and Miles Early, granddaughter Emma Krehbiel of Omaha, NE. Daughter Carol (Richard) Snell of Council Bluffs, IA. Granddaughter Sommer Lisenby of Omaha, NE great grandchildren Zoe, Grant and Collin. Granddaughter Kary (Chris) Cameron of Omaha, NE and great grandchildren, Kolby, Keegan and Kuiper. Sister Lois (Cliff) Agenstein of Gallatin, MO. Niece, Debra (Jay) Protass of La Quinta, CA, niece Kathy (Jeff) Henderson Gallatin, MO., nephew John Agenstein of Jamesport, MO., and nephew Steve Agenstein of Jamesport, MO., and many great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Samaritan's Purse in care of the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 AM Wednesday, March 12th, 2025, at Pilot Grove #2 Cemetery, near Jamesport. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home & Crematory in Jamesport.
