Charles "Charlie" Dean Buck - age 90 of Kearney, MO, passed away Sunday morning, July 20, 2025, at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, MO. Charlie was born on May 9, 1935, the son of Charles E. and Lucy P. (Innis) Buck in Nettleton, MO. He grew up in Hamilton and Kidder and attended school at Hamilton. Charlie served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in San Diego, CA. He married Dorothy O'Dell on December 10th, 1954, in Chillicothe. Charlie worked all kinds of construction for over 50 years and owned Buck Construction. Charlie was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. He liked trying to play the guitar, bluegrass music and old western movies. Charlie was a very hard worker and a good provider for his family. It was very important to him that all of his kids obtained an education. Charlie will be dearly missed.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy and brothers, Herb Buck and Freddie Buck. He is survived by four children, Tim Buck of Kansas City, MO, Sissie Noll (Wayne) of Breckenridge, MO, Shelley Buck of Liberty, MO, and Kerry Runions (Richie) of Excelsiors Springs, MO; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; seven great - grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; four siblings, Martha Wolffe (Charles) of Leesburg, FL, Harlan Buck (Sandy) of Mesa, AZ, Norman Buck (Shirley) of Holt, MO, and Effie Brown (Dan) of Joplin, MO; nieces, nephews and other extended family members also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Kingston Cemetery in care of the funeral home. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Kingston Cemetery. There is no scheduled visitation.
