Brittany Danielle Sander

Brittany D Sander, 38, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Lee’s Summit Medical Center in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on December 16, 1987, in Kansas City, Missouri, Brittany was the beloved daughter of David Duane Tackett and Christi (Fox) Tackett. She was raised in Richmond, Missouri, where she was educated and built lifelong friendships.

Brittany dedicated nearly 20 years of her life to serving others through her career at Higginsville Habilitation Center. Throughout her time there, she wore many hats, embraced every challenge with determination, and formed lasting relationships with coworkers and those she cared for. Her compassion, work ethic, and willingness to help wherever she was needed made a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Above all else, Brittany’s greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife, an incredible mother, a loving daughter, the best sister, aunt, and loyal friend. She loved fiercely, laughed often, and had a personality that could light up any room. She was strong-willed, compassionate, and selfless, always putting the people she loved before herself.

Brittany had a way of making people laugh, and when she got together with the right crowd, there was never a dull moment. Her quick wit, infectious laughter, and unforgettable sense of humor made every gathering one to remember. She found joy in the simple things and loved anything that involved animals, gardening, and flowers. She loved UTV adventures with family and friends. More often than not, those rides ended with something broken, but to Brittany, that was simply part of the fun—and another story everyone would laugh about for years to come.

One of Brittany’s greatest joys was the anticipation of becoming a grandmother. She was absolutely over the moon as she awaited the arrival of her first grandbaby, already dreaming of the love, laughter, and memories they would share.

Brittany was preceded in death by her father, David Duane Tackett, and her grandparents, James and Nieta Sheppard and Fritz and Virginia Fox.

She is lovingly survived by her husband, Derrick Sander; her beloved sons, Maddox William Thorns( Brianna), Colten Jase Sander and Liam Kade Sander; her mother, Christi Tackett; her brother, Christopher Tackett of Rayville, Missouri; her sister, Adrian Woods (Nathan) of Cameron, Missouri; her nieces and nephews, Kallista Boone, Kiley Tackett, Warren Woods, Evelyn Woods, Henry Woods, Lenora Woods, and Robert Woods; her first grandchild, expected in December; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, coworkers, and countless dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Although her time here was far too short, Brittany’s legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched with her kindness, laughter, and unwavering love. Whether through a shared laugh, a walk through a garden, a ride down a back road, or the unconditional love she gave so freely, Brittany left an imprint on the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and never forgotten.

A celebration of Brittany’s life will be held on July 25, 2026 from 12:30pm- 2:30pm at the Concordia Community Center. The family appreciates the love, prayers, and support they have received during this incredibly difficult time.
