Bert "Bud" M. Vaught

Bert "Bud" M. Vaught - age 77 of Polo, MO passed away Wednesday afternoon, May 5th, 2021 at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, MO.  Bud was born on May 30th, 1943 the son of Michael Stewart and Muriel (Stepleton) Vaught in Polo, MO. Bud was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Polo and was a member of the church. He was a 1961 graduate of Polo High School.  On June 9th , 1962 he was united in marriage to Doris Jean McCubbin in Polo.  In addition to being a diversified businessman, Bud worked for the City of Polo for 25 plus years as the public works manager.  He owned a grocery store in Meadville, MO and Polo. Bud also sold Real Estate and was an auctioneer. 

Bud was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris; sisters, Mary Doyle and Betty Mott; brothers-in-law, Ron Williams, John McCartney and Junior McCubbin. Survivors include daughter, Stephanie (Mark) Elder of Cape Fair, MO; son, Bert (Tania) Vaught of Polo; granddaughters, Katelin and Hanna Vaught of Polo; sisters, Ruby Williams of Kingston and Beverly McCartney of Ft. Dodge, IA; nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members also survive.

 In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Polo Christian Church in care of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Monday, May 10th, 2021 at the Polo Christian Church. Visitation will be held 5 to 7 PM, Sunday, the evening prior, also at the church. Friends may call from 10 AM to 3 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Burial at Prairie Ridge Cemetery west of Polo. Arrangements entrusted to the care and direction of Stith Family Funeral Home in Polo.
