Alberta (Smith) Carr - age 84 of Polo, MO passed away Monday morning, October 28, 2024, at her home in Polo. Alberta was born on April 30, 1940, the daughter of Kenneth Alfred and Pauline May (Beightol) Smith in Kansas City, KS. Alberta grew up in the St. Joseph area. She married Robert Carr on June 18th, 1981.
Alberta was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; sons, Robert Hawk, Roy Howard, and Darrell Hawk and sister, Loretta Maendele.
She is survived by her children, Rhonda Callison of Polo, MO and David Davidson of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Cassy Davidson of Riverside, MO, Ryan Howard, Crystal Loxterman (Justin) of Excelsior Springs, MO, Gage Davidson of Syracuse, NY, and Brodie Davidson of Kansas City, MO; great-grandchildren, Jayda Loxterman, Braden Godwin, and Willow Loxterman; siblings, Phyllis Smith (Tom) of Troy, KS and Kenneth Smith (Joyce) of St. Joseph, MO; other extended family members also survive.
Alberta was feisty, a diehard Chiefs fan, and liked to have a good time. She was an animal lover, and enjoyed the outdoors. She could often be found outside barefoot tending to her flowers or garden. She was called Gammy by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved to laugh, play, and spend time with them all. She loved to be surrounded by family and enjoyed reminiscing on old times.
In her earlier years she liked to cook, sew and craft keepsakes for her family and friends. She loved Mexican food, and her home-made tacos, enchiladas, and salsa were a family favorite. She will be greatly missed by all.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
