Sandra J. Butler, age 82 of Lathrop, MO entered eternal life Monday morning, April 17th, 2017 at her home in Lathrop. Sandra was born January 24th, 1935 the daughter of Lester and Harriet (Bergman) Schwinn in Dubuque, IA. Mrs. Butler was a 1953 graduate of Dubuque High School. In the spring of 1957, she graduated from Iowa State University in Ames, IA with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Husbandry. Sandra moved to Plattsburg, MO in 1972 and had been a resident of Lathrop, MO since 1991. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Dubuque and the Osborn Methodist Church in Osborn, MO. Sandra was a homemaker and worked at Spellman Hospital in Smithville, MO for 15 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her son, David Butler and wife Beth of Wichita, KS; son, Dale Butler of Lathrop, MO; daughter, Sarah Marrant and husband Mike of Lathrop, MO; grandson, Matt Butler of Kechi, KS; grandson, Kevin Butler of Kansas City, MO; granddaughter Samantha Peters and husband Jason of Smithville, MO; granddaughter, Robin Butler of Lathrop, MO; granddaughter, Tessa Butler of Springfield, MO; granddaughter, Brett Butler of Warrensburg, MO; great-grandchildren Andrew and Jordan Peters.

Memorial gifts are suggested to the local animal shelter, the ASPCA or the Humane Society in loving memory of Sandra J. Butler. A celebration of life gathering will be held at The American Legion Post # 467 in Lathrop, MO on Saturday, April 22nd, 2017 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.
