Ronnie Gilreath - age 68 of St. Joseph, MO passed away Monday morning, October 21st, 2019 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. Ronnie was born on December 25th, 1950 the son of Lewis Benny and Darlene (McCoy) Gilreath in Gallatin. He attended Gallatin High School. He was baptized at the Gallatin First Baptist Church. Ronnie served in the United State Airforce from February 1970 until his honorable discharge in October of 1973. He served during the Vietnam Conflict and was stationed in San Antonia, TX and Anchorage, AK. In 1992 Ronnie was united in marriage to Valerie Younger in St. Joe. He was a member and past master of the Brotherhood #269 Masonic Lodge AF & AM and the St. Joseph American Legion. Ronnie was ornery and enjoyed teasing people. He also enjoyed camping and fishing. In his younger years he enjoyed drag racing. Ronnie will be dearly missed.
Mr. Gilreath was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors: wife, Valerie of the home; daughter, Susan Jackson of San Jose, CA; brother, J.L. Gilreath of Gallatin; sister, LuAnn (Homer) Rainey of Gallatin; mother-in-law, Beverly Noland of St. Joe; aunt, Virginia (Jim) Tague of Gallatin; several nieces, nephews and other extended family also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Joseph Fire Department First Responders. Funeral Service: 2 PM Thursday, October 24th, 2019, Stith Funeral Home, Gallatin. Visitation: 1 PM Thursday (1 hr. prior) until 1:45. Masonic Service: 1:45 PM. Burial: Clear Creek Cemetery, Lock Springs, MO with full military honors.
