Linda "Linn" L. Mohler

Linda “Linn” L. Mohler - age 76 of Polo, MO went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday morning, January 8th, 2020 at her home.  Linda was born on October 31st, 1943 the daughter of Virgil A. and Ilene (Vandenburg) Cunningham in Des Moines, IA.  After Ilene passed away, Virgil married Francis Hartman and Linda gained a stepmother.  On August 19th, 1962 she was united in marriage to Melvin L. Mohler at University Christian Church in Des Moines, IA.  God blessed Linda with the honor of becoming the mother of then 8-month-old Jonna (Mohler) Modde. This union was further blessed by God with four more children. God then led Mel and Linda to adopt 10 children. Linda was a nurse for 31 years.  She loved her Lord Jesus Christ and had a personal relationship with Him.  Linda served her Lord as a member, Sunday School teacher and youth leader at the Polo Christian Church or in whatever capacity she was needed. God led Mel and Linda to foster 167 children, many of whom had major medical problems.  They once fostered over 30 children in one year.  Linda was a past member of Beta Sigma Phi. 

Mrs. Mohler was preceded in death by her parents, stepmother and daughter, Amy Mohler.  Survivors include: husband, Mel of the home; brother, Denny (Elizabeth) Cunningham; daughter, Jonna Modde; son, John (Sheila) Mohler; daughter, Kelly (Doug) Anderson; son, David (Rose) Mohler; son, Rodney (Amy) Mohler; son, Andrew Mohler; son, Iver (Trish) Mohler; daughter, Heather Mohler; son, Jeremy Mohler’ son, Dillon Mohler; son, Robert Mohler; daughter, Paige Mohler; daughter, Julianna Mohler; daughter, Jolina, Mohler; 27 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; other extended family also survives.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Polo Christian Church or Christ Cupboard Food Pantry in care of the funeral home. Funeral Service: 2 PM, Tuesday, January 14th, 2020. Visitation: 1 hr. prior to the service at the church. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 AM to 5 PM Monday.  Burial: Zimmerman Cemetery, south of Polo.
