James "Jim" Peoples Obituary

 

James "Jim" L. Peoples - age 80 of Knoxville, MO passed away Monday, June 24th, 2019 at North Kansas City Hospital. Jim was born on July 5th, 1938 the son of Floyd and Leola (Richardson) Peoples in Knoxville, MO.  He was a 1956 graduate of Richmond High School.  On February 22nd, 1957 he was united in marriage to Diane Harrison at the Bethel Christian Union Church.  Jim was baptized in the Mormon Church in 1960 in Ft. Collins, CO. Jim was a brick mason and owned Peoples Masonry.  He enjoyed fishing, metal detecting, coin collecting, mushroom hunting and bird watching. Jim will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Peoples was preceded in death by; his parents; son, Mark Peoples; grandson, Justin William McDougal; brother, Harold Peoples; brother, Robert Peoples; sister, Lucille Nicholson; sister, Shirley Knuckles; great-grandson, Rylan Saulsbury.  Those left to mourn his passing and celebrate his life include: wife of 62 years, Diane of the home; daughter, Debra (Donnie) Wiley of Richmond; daughter, Kathy (Charles) Garrett of Creswell, OR; son, Michael (Dawn) Peoples of Knoxville; daughter-in-law, Cathy Peoples of Knoxville; brother, David (Darlene) Peoples of Knoxville; Grandchildren: Nikki Peoples, Brandon Peoples, Brittany Smith, Christian Garrett, Ashley Kolb, Tiffany Smith and Jamie Clock; 17 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members also survive.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Diane Peoples to help with final expenses.  Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, June 29th, 2019 at Knoxville Community Church, Knoxville.  The family will receive friends one-hour prior to the service at the church. Cremation to follow the services. Friends may call after 11 AM Friday at Stith Family Funeral Home in Polo. Arrangements are under the direction of Stith Family Funeral Home in Polo.
