Irene Frost Obituary

Irene Frost - age 102 of Gallatin, MO passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 6th, 2019 at Daviess County Nursing and Rehab in Gallatin with family at her side.  Irene was born on January 1st, 1917 the daughter of Joseph Lee and Mabel (Royston) Reynolds in Glencoe, OK.  At the age of three her family moved to Daviess County. She attended Pilot Grove Country School and graduated from Jamesport High School.  On December 12th, 1935 she was united in marriage to Harold Edwin Frost at the Courthouse in Gallatin.  Irene joined the Gallatin First Christian Church in 1936.  Harold and Irene purchased a farm northeast of Gallatin in 1941. She was a homemaker, farmer’s wife, mother and also worked at the Lambert Cap Factory for 9 years. Harold and Irene moved into town in 1968. Harold passed away in 1992.  Irene was very active in her church and throughout the Gallatin community.  She was a woman of strong faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Irene was a member of the String Town Club. She served on the Oats Bus Board from 2001 to 2015 until her retirement at age 98. Irene was a hard worker, doing a lot of cooking, gardening, canning and sewing to take care of raising her family.  Irene’s family was the most important thing in the world to her, with good friends coming in a close second.  Irene will be dearly missed by her family, friends, church and community. 

Mrs. Frost was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Harold Frost; brother, Robert Lee Reynolds; sister, Frances Audene Hill; sister, Dorothy Lucille Hartley; great-granddaughter, Stephanie LaNay Frost; great-granddaughter, Skie Dreesen. Those left to mourn her passing and celebrate her life include: son, Duane (Ruth) Frost; son, Jerry (Kathy) Frost; daughter, Linda Madison; grandson, Greg (Sheila) Frost; granddaughter, Debbie (John) Krummel; grandson, Mark (Jenny) Frost; granddaughter, Teresa (Rick) Bachman; granddaughter, Amy (Jeff) Arledge; granddaughter, Janie (Mark) McDaniel; granddaughter, Kristi (Dan) Dreesen; grandson, Daniel (Gerri) Madison; 25 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren and other extended family members.

Pallbearers: Greg Frost, Mark Frost, Daniel Madison, John Krummel, Mark McDaniel, Dan Dreesen, Rick Bachman and Jeff Arledge.

Flowers are appreciated and memorial contributions are suggested to the Gallatin First Christian Church, the Active Aging Resource Center in Gallatin or the Pilot Grove #2 Cemetery near Jamesport in loving memory of Irene Frost in care of the funeral home.  Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 PM next Saturday, March 16th, 2019 at Stith Funeral Home in Gallatin with Pastor Russ Hamilton officiating. Music will be provided by Mike and Carolyn Toney. The family will begin receiving friends at 1:30 PM also at the funeral home. Burial to follow the services at Pilot Grove #2 Cemetery near Jamesport.
