H. Loretta Rawlings

H. Loretta Rawlings - age 82 of Holt, MO passed away Saturday morning, August 17th, 2019 at Liberty Hospital.  Loretta was born on March 11th, 1937 the daughter of Cordell Lloyd and Lois Marie (Scott) Watt in Eldon, MO.  She was a graduate of Wellington High School in Wellington, KS.  On August 17th, 1957 Loretta was united in marriage to Lindel “Sonny” Wayne Rawlings in Webster Groves, MO. She worked for Home Interiors and taught home economics and bachelor living in Kearney, MO. She was active in church and taught Sunday school while living in Roach, MO. Loretta was a member of the First Baptist Church of Holt, MO and the Red Hat Society. She was strong willed and helped run the family farm at a younger age. Loretta was an amazing cook and enjoyed cooking, for anyone. She co-authored three books on cooking. She loved her family, kids, grandkids and great grandkids.  Loretta taught the value of family and respect.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. 

Mrs. Rawlings was preceded in death by: her parents; son, Lyndel Dee Rawlings; husband, Lindel “Sonny” Rawlings; grandson, Nathan Scott Rawlings. Survivors include: son Larry Rawlings of Lathrop; son, Charles (Cheryl) Rawlings of Holt; grandchildren: Amanda (JC) Miller of Lathrop, Crystal Rawlings of Sunrise Beach, James (Emily) Rawlings of Kansas City, Samuel Rawlings of Lathrop, and several great grandchildren.

Memorial Contributions are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Holt. Visitation and Services will be held at the First Baptist Church of Holt, MO. Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 PM Thursday, August 22, 2019. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, August 23rd, 2019.  Burial to follow the services at Antioch Cemetery, Holt.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Stith Family Funeral Home in Lathrop.  Online guestbook at www.stithfamilyfunerals.com
