Gregory Alan Misel - age 46 of Polo passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 25th, 2017. He was born on December 10th, 1970 the son of Billy G. and Pat (Dooley) Misel in Richmond, MO. Greg was a 1989 graduate of Polo High School. On September 5th, 1992 he was united in marriage to Debby Fry in Cowgill, MO. Greg worked at Ford Motor Company in Claycomo, MO for 17 years. At the time of his passing he was a Paint Booth Production Manager. He was a member of the Knoxville Community Church in Knoxville, MO, the PAO and the PWCO. Greg coached youth sports for 20 years and was an archery instructor for the Shamrock 4H Club. Most recently he served as assistant coach for the Kearney Intensity softball team. Greg served 2 terms on the Polo R-7 Board of Education. He also volunteered for the Cowgill Fire Department. Greg was a genuine and selfless person. He always saw the best in everybody, no matter what they had done. Greg was extremely family oriented and his kids were his life. Everything he did was about his family or community. Greg poured his heart and soul into the Polo ball fields. His two favorite places were at the beach and ball fields with his family.

Greg was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Bill Misel; maternal grandparents, Lewis and Vera (Carter) Dooley; aunts, Lois Swafford and Margie Howerton. Survivors include: wife, Debby of the home, daughter Maddy Misel and fiancé Taylor of Richmond, MO; son, Mason Misel of Polo, MO; daughter, Josie Misel of the home; daughter Jade Misel of the home; parents, Billy and Pat Misel of Cowgill, MO; brother Jeff Misel and wife Emily of Cowgill, MO; brother, Brian Misel and wife Cheryl of Kearney, MO; paternal grandmother, Helen Misel of Bonner Springs, KS; uncle, Dan (Berniece) Misel of Cowgill, MO; uncle, David (Ariel) Misel of Polo, MO; aunt, DiAnne (Patrick) Berning of Bonner Springs, KS; uncle, Ed Swafford of Cameron, MO; a host of extended family also survives.

Pallbearers: Zackery Phillips, Dylan Fry, Brian Fry, Jr., Dylan Misel, Roscoe Walker and Merle Fleener.

Honorary Pallbearers: Reggie Foster, Arnie Pieper, Trevor Misel, Chris Misel, Justin Misel, John Howerton, James Howerton, Randy Howell and Christopher Kipp.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Polo Athletic Organization in loving memory of Gregory Alan Misel and may be left at or mailed to the funeral home (301 E. Elm St Polo, MO 64671). Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Monday, October 30th, 2017 at the Polo High School gymnasium with Pastor Wally Aubrey officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, October 29th, 2017 from 4 to 6:00 PM also at the high school. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 AM to 5 PM on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial to follow the services at the Cowgill Cemetery southeast of Cowgill, MO. Arrangements are under the direction of Stith Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Polo, MO.
