Gerald Wayne Clevenger- age 80, of Cameron, MO (formerly of Gallatin) passed away Saturday morning, May 25th, 2019 at Redwood of Cameron. Wayne was born on October 7th, 1938, the son of Cecil and Nina (Johnson) Clevenger. Wayne was married for 32 years. Out of that marriage one son was born, Roger Clevenger.
Wayne first worked for Missouri Telephone Company for 34 ½ years. During that time, it was first called Inter County Telephone Company. Wayne was fortunate enough to have several jobs including construction, installer, trouble shooter, securing ROW. The last 18 years he was Plant Superintendent. Also during that time, after his parents had moved to town, he farmed the family farm with row crop. Wayne had numerous things he liked to do. He was a dedicated tool collector all of his life. Later in life he was a member of two wood turning clubs in Kansas City. Wayne really enjoyed wood working. He also enjoyed working with metal, or anything mechanical. Wayne enjoyed any king of maintenance work. He also enjoyed his time fishing. For years, he has had a special friend, Judy. Wayne will be missed by Judy as well as Roger.
Mr. Clevenger was preceded in death by his parents, aunts and cousins. Those left to mourn his passing include: son, Roger (Deisy) Clevenger of Chattanooga, TN, and special friend, Judy Watson of Cameron, MO. They will miss him dearly.
Memorial service to be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, May 31st, 2019 at Stith Funeral Home in Gallatin. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service also at the funeral home. Inurnment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 30th, 2019. Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Christian Church Lighthouse Learning Center.
