George "Dick" Walker Obituary

 

George “Dick” Walker age – 85 of Lathrop, MO and formerly of Kansas City, MO and Pattonsburg, MO passed away Thursday morning, May 9th, 2019 at his home.   Dick was born on February 1st, 1934 the son of Harry James and Beulah (Randall) Walker in Kansas City, MO. Dick served our country in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1960 at the rank of Sergeant.  He worked for the Olin Corporation and retired from Inland Corporation as a supervisor.  Dick married Mary Griffin and together they had four children. He later married Jolene Walker. He was a true marine. He was tough, but friendly.  Dick was active in sports and coached his children’s basketball, football and baseball teams. He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of St. John Francis Regis Parrish in Kansas City.  

Mr. Walker was preceded in death by: parents; wife, Jolene; brother, Michael Walker; sister, Maxine Chadwick; sister, Valencia Willis and sister, Juanita Brunk.  

Survivors include:  son, Richard Walker of Kansas City, MO; son Michael (Angelina) Walker of Harrisburg, PA; daughter, Melody (Chris) Isom of Leawood, KS; daughter, Melinda (Brian) Torrey of Overland Park, KS; brother, James (Pat) Walker; brother, Kenneth (Patty) Walker; sister, Faith Anne (James) Henry; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members survive.
