Gary Tester, age 63 of Holt, MO passed away Sunday morning, October 20th, 2019 at Liberty Hospital in Liberty, MO. Gary was born on January 24th, 1956 the son of Alva and Shirley (Bernard) Tester in St. Joseph, MO. He was a 1974 graduate of Lathrop High School where he excelled in track and field. Gary was a signalman for BNSF Railway, retiring in 2016 after 38 years of dedicated service. Gary was a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen, Local 21 union. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle to Sturgis annually. Family was the most important thing to Gary. He was a hard worker and made sure his family was provided for. Gary was a leader and was responsible. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it. Gary will be dearly missed by his friends and family.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Tena of the home; daughter, Amber Tester of Austin, TX; daughter, Mandy and Clayton Stuart of Roseburg, OR; son, Colby and Brittany Tester of Kansas City; his twin brother, Larry Tester of Holt; brother, Rick Tester of Holt; sister, Kathy and Sam Doyle of Holt; and his seven grandchildren: Emma, Scotty, Lilly, Dillan, Quinnton, Benny and Jaxen.
Graveside service: 2 PM Saturday, October 26th, 2019 at Lathrop Cemetery. Visitation: 1 PM to 1:45 PM Saturday at Stith Family Funeral Home, Lathrop. The family will gather with friends following the service from 4 to 7 PM at Leon's Social Club in Holt (215 Main St). Arrangements entrusted to Stith Family Funeral Home in Lathrop.
