Elvert Efton Price Obituary

Elvert Efton Price – age 97 of Kansas City, MO, formerly of Gallatin, Liberty and Osborn, MO, passed away Sunday evening, May 12, 2019 at his home.  Elvert was born on August 29, 1921 the son of Charles Edgar and Cora Pearl (Enfield) Price in Gallatin, MO.  He was a 1939 graduate of the Gallatin High School.  On August 9, 1947, Elvert was united in marriage to Betty Butcher at the Gallatin Presbyterian Church.

Elvert served in the United States Army during WWII where he was stationed in Australia.  In his early years, he was a lime truck driver and worked on the J.C. Penny Farm.  He later became a Millwright and worked for Bendix, GM, and Ford.  Elvert retired from the Ford Motor Company in 1983. 

Elvert loved to fish and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He served as a Scout Master for Troop 373 and was a member of the Tribe of Mic-O-Say.  He was a member of the Mabel Worship Center.  Elvert liked to keep busy and could be found always doing something around the house.  He will be remembered as having a great sense of humor as he was always playing pranks and teasing.  He was a beloved friend, husband and father who will be missed by many. 

Mr. Price was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gwendolin Hallbrook; brother, Donald Price; sister, Austa McJunkin; brother, Vernon Price; brother, Envert Price; sister, Alice Whitfield; son, Kenneth Price and daughter-in-law, Anita Price.  Those left to mourn his passing include: wife, Betty of the home; son, Rodney Price of Liberty, MO; daughter, Pam (Rick) Elliott of Kansas City, MO; son, Bill (Angela) Price of Pollard, AR; 7 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other extended family.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life on August 24, 2019 from 2-6pm at the Gladstone Elks Lodge in Gladstone, Missouri.  Arrangements are under the direction of Stith Funeral Home in Gallatin.  Online guestbook at www.stithfamilyfunerals.com.
