Bryan W. Heinz – age 96 of Plattsburg and formerly of Lathrop passed away February 6th, 2018 at Liberty Hospital. He was born on August 21st, 1921 the son of Thomas and Irene (McComas) Heinz in Cameron, MO. Bryan was a 1939 graduate of Lathrop High School. On June 21, 1944 he was united in marriage to Louise Lewis in Liberty, MO. Bryan served in the United States Army during World War II from September 1942 until his honorable discharge in December 1945. He worked as a meat cutter for Milgram Food stores in the Kansas City area. Bryan was a member of the Polo Baptist Church. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels into his 90’s and volunteered at St. Luke’s Barry Road Campus for many years. Bryan loved to garden and share his crop with others. He also enjoyed woodworking. Bryan had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. He returned to rural Lathrop, MO in 2005. Bryan will be dearly missed by his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Louise. Survivors include: son, Dan (Marlene) Heinz; sister, Dorothy Allmon; grandson, Bryan (Jennifer) Heinz; granddaughter, Jennifer (Harry) Leyden; grandson Alan (Grace) Heinz; granddaughter, Anna Heinz; granddaughter, Mary Heinz; great-grandchildren: Kelly, Mason, Ethan, Lillian, Madelyn, Harrison, Violet and Emogene.
Memorial gifts are suggested to the Caldwell County Nutrition Center or Christ Cupboard Food Pantry, both in Polo. Funeral services: 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 10th, 2018 at Stith Family Funeral Home in Lathrop. Visitation: one-hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
