Betty L. Lewis

Betty L. Lewis - age 84 of Columbia, MO and formerly of Sedalia, MO and Gallatin, MO passed away Saturday morning, August 10th, 2019 at The Villa at Blue Ridge in Columbia, MO.  Betty was born on January 5th, 1935 the daughter of Robert Hershel and Gladys Mae (Herring) Sipes in Guilford, MO.  She was a graduate of Guilford High School. On September 13th, 1954 Betty was united in marriage to Buddy Dean Lewis in Maryville, MO.  They made their home in Altamont, then Gallatin and raised their family.  Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gallatin.  She worked for over 20 years for the Gallatin R-V School District running the copy machine.  Betty also cleaned the First Baptist Church.   She loved to cook, help people, travel and fish. Betty touched many lives and was loved by many.  She had a good sense of humor and you never knew what she was going to say. 

Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Buddy Dean and brother, Bonnie Lee Sipes.  Survivors include son, Rick Lewis of Sedalia, MO; daughter, Vicki Phillips of Columbia, MO; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. 

Memorial Contributions are suggested to Gallatin First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Tuesday, August 13th, 2019 at Stith Funeral Home in Gallatin.  Visitation is one-hour prior. Burial at Alta Vista Cemetery, Weatherby. Friends may call after 9 AM Tuesday at the funeral home. Arrangements entrusted to Stith Funeral Home, Gallatin.
