Bernice L. Knapp - age 94 of Excelsior Springs, MO passed away Monday night, July 9th, 2018 at the Excelsior Springs Convalescent Center. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 PM Saturday, July 14th at Stith Family Funeral Home in Lathrop. Graveside services will commence at 2 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Joseph, MO, also on Saturday. Memorial Gifts are suggested to Heart of America Chapter – Alzheimer’s Association. Bernice was born on October 7th, 1923 the daughter of John A. and Cora E. (Kramer) Reeves in St. Joseph, MO. She graduated from Lafayette High School and on December 12th, 1945 she was united in marriage to William T. Knapp. Bernice was of the Presbyterian faith. She was a homemaker on the family farm near Holt, MO for most of her life until her and William moved to Residential Care in Excelsior Springs in 2003. Bernice loved dogs, cats and birds. She also could identify almost any bird simply by the chirp it made. Bernice also enjoyed gardening, canning and sewing. She taught her son Bill to sew, cook, iron and embroider. Bernice was well read.

Mrs. Knapp was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother, Harry. Her son, Bill and his wife Margo of Massachusetts survive.
