Albert "Al" Junior Pierson

Albert "Al" Junior Pierson - age 77 of Turney, MO passed away Saturday morning, February 16th, 2019 in the comfort of his home with family at his side.  Al was born on May 14th, 1941 the son of Albert Ray and Greta Fay (Swigart) Pierson in Missouri City, MO.  He was a 1959 graduate of Liberty High School.  In 1980 Al was united in marriage to Irene Sessions in Miami, OK.  He was a member of the Browning Baptist Church in Turney. Al was a self-employed backhoe operator and plumber, beginning in the 1970’s until this winter when his health would not allow it any longer.  He loved working and spending time with his family. Al felt that a mans work made his worth.  He had his first job starting at age seven and never stopped working.  Al also enjoyed fishing and reading.  He also enjoyed helping do maintenance and construction projects at his church.  His family describes him as a gentle giant. Al will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Pierson was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters and one brother. Those left to mourn his passing include: his wife, Irene of the home; daughter, Ann Barnett; daughter, Chala (Rick) Flanery; daughter, Melinda (Doug) Wyckoff; son, Matt Pierson; daughter, Kathy (Matt) Sanford; grandchildren: Jamie, Brandy, Jessie, Chad, Amber, Jackie, Courtney, Daniel Emilie, Tryston and Jonah; 26 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Pierson; brother, Larry (Lorene) Pierson; Brother, Dean (Mary) Pierson; brother, Carroll (Judy) Pierson; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family also survive. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the church in care of the funeral home. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday afternoon, February 26th, 2019 at Browning Baptist Church in Turney, MO.
